Cookie Policy

This website uses cookies to function correctly and to understand how it is used. Below we explain what cookies are, which types we use, and how you can control them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files saved in your browser when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember certain information between visits, such as your chosen language or your cookie choice.
Why we use cookies
We use them for three purposes: to ensure the website functions correctly (for example, remembering your chosen language), to understand, in aggregate form, how the website is used, via Google Analytics (GA4), and to load the interactive Google Maps embed when you request it.
With the exception of strictly necessary cookies, no other cookie is placed before you express your choice through the banner shown on your first visit.
Strictly necessary cookies
Essential cookies that keep the site working, such as remembering your chosen language and your cookie choice. These cannot be turned off.
This category includes the consent cookie `algallo_consent`, which remembers your cookie choice, and the language cookie `NEXT_LOCALE`, which remembers your chosen language (Romanian or English) between visits.
The consent cookie is kept for 6 months from the date of your last preference update, whether you chose to accept or reject cookies — after that period, the cookie banner will be shown again.
The language cookie has no fixed expiry date chosen by us — its duration is the default set by the website's routing library.
Performance cookies
Helps us understand how the site is used, via Google Analytics (GA4). Only activates with your consent.
This cookie activates only once you choose to accept this category from the cookie banner or the preferences menu; until then, no Google Analytics script is loaded and no cookie of this kind is set.
Marketing cookies
The website does not currently use marketing cookies in the classic sense — we do not display targeted advertising and we do not run retargeting.
The third consent category you will encounter in the cookie banner is the one for the interactive map:
Loads the interactive Google Maps embed on request, to show our location. Google may set its own cookies once the map is shown.
This category is completely separate from the Google Analytics one — accepting one does not imply accepting the other.
Third-party cookies
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics/GA4) and the interactive Google Maps embed are provided by Google and activate separately, each only after you accept the corresponding category from the cookie banner — accepting the analytics category does NOT automatically activate the map, and vice versa.
The Facebook and Instagram links in the website's footer are plain links to those pages and do not set any cookie on this site.
How to manage cookies
You can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie preferences" link in the website's footer, which reopens the cookie banner, or directly from your browser settings, where you can block or delete cookies already saved.
Blocking the strictly necessary consent cookie will cause the cookie banner to be shown on every visit.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
